Elizabeth struggled so much with breastfeeding her first 2 babies. Well, I am here today to sing the praises of “the third time around is the charm.” This was the reality for Elizabeth and it could be for you too!

One of the biggest changes this time around for Elizabeth is the connections she made during her pregnancy. As a result of her previous 2 experiences, she realized that she needed more help than the friends and the books she relied on. Elizabeth realized the need to learn more about breastfeeding from experts in the field.

Relying on friends who had inaccurate information, did not work in her favor. Books are great and yet she realized some had inaccurate information. Expecting that her healthcare providers would have the time and knowledge to help her solve her breastfeeding struggles was misguided hope.

Realizing that connected with an expert in lactation is what motivated Elizabeth to initially reach out to me. As a newly breastfeeding mom, she stopped breastfeeding by the time she came home from the hospital. Cracked and bleeding nipples scared her off. Determined to breastfeed with her second baby, she tried so hard to override the pain with interesting coping techniques. Elizabeth worked so hard to breastfeed comfortably, however, ultimately she switched to formula feeding by the time her baby was 2 months old.

Getting prepared for her third baby, Elizabeth switched her third trimester to focusing more on breastfeeding and less on all the “stuff” she needed for the third baby. As her knowledge based increased, so did the confidence she had as she looked forward to the birth of her baby. Listen to this podcast as I walk you through Elizabeth’s journey. We talk about what changes she made to ensure she would reach her goals. No more ice packs between the knees for Elizabeth. Take a listen.
