Breastfeeding Reviews

Lori changed my life! When I met her I was a mess of frustration, anxiety and worry. My son was 3 weeks old and crying incessantly. As a Physician Assistant myself and the mother of a then 2 and  1/2 year old (that I nursed for 17 months), I thought I knew everything that I needed to know. Well, my son had other plans.

I met Lori at her office. She was kind, clear, and informative. She weighed my son before and after feeding to see how much milk he was getting. She listened actively and was engaged when I shared my story (often through tears). She did a very thorough exam, and shared that it appeared that my son had a significant tongue tie.

I appreciated (and appreciate to this day), that Lori is extremely knowledgeable and offered recommendations that she felt would be most beneficial but I never felt forced or that I would be judged.

Lori went above and beyond for my son and I on more occasions than I can count. She responded quickly to emails, soothed my ever-present anxiety and checked in with me on a regular basis just to make sure I was doing ok.

I am now on a mission to help other moms establish their team of experts and resources before they even deliver so that they may be prepared, if needed, no matter what comes their way. Lori is a the TOP of this list.

Words will never be able to express my gratitude to her for everything she did for my son and I (who at the time of writing this is still exclusively breastfed at 7 months). Do not hesitate to see Lori. You will absolutely love her and gain more wisdom than you could ever imagine.

“Lori was extremely helpful and instrumental in improving my breastfeeding issues. She came to my house twice and showed me the different positions for nursing in my home in different areas. She helped me figure out how to improve my baby’s latch and pointed out her upper lip tie. She is kind, calm, and very knowledgeable. She was recommended to me by my sister in law and I would recommend her to anyone. My baby ended up having a tongue tie procedure performed and Lori sent me articles and other resources which were really helpful. She continued to follow up with me after the procedure and now that I am trying to transition her to the bottle before going back to work..”

“Lori has been my lactation consultant go-to for my last three babies. She has proven to be knowledgeable, helpful, and very responsive to many different questions that I’ve had over the past 6 years. She is professional and I trust her responses and recommendations. I would recommend her to any new mom when they begin breastfeeding or at any point in their breastfeeding journey!.”

“I was really struggling to nurse my 2 week old without pain every time, and Lori helped sooo much. It was worth every penny to have her come to my home, see what we were doing well, and what needed to be improved in the place where all the magic actually happens. The 90 minutes she spent with me had impact right away. It was a beautiful thing to be able to let her know that in less than 12 hours I had had many pain-free feedings on both sides! I would highly recommend Lori to any one struggling with breastfeeding. Her knowledge and love were palpable. I felt so well supported.”

“If you’re on the fence about Lori – don’t be. I saw Lori on day 4 of my second child’s life when I was at my wits end about our feeds. She is technically the 4th LC I’ve seen since I really struggled with my first (ended up exclusively pumping) but by far the most helpful/informative. She is so caring and compassionate that as a new mom, you feel relief just talking to her. And she doesn’t pressure you at all. She truly wants the best thing for you and your little one and that is hard to come by. There’s no guilt or grief from her if you can’t seem to “get it” as I say. And she gives you several options to try and make it work for you. Caring, knowledgeable and able to apply her knowledge to different situations – you really can’t ask for anything more!!!”

“I highly recommend Lori! She has a ton of experience and it really shows. If you are needing any kind of help I recommend you go see her or do a home visit. If it is early enough on I recommend the home visit just from my experience. You are too tired and it is too stressful to get out of the house in the beginning and it is nice that she can travel all over the valley and come to you with no worries. Then she can see you in your own environment and the way you breast feed day to day and where.

I’ve seen Lori with both of my babies and she was a tremendous help! I learned so much from her. She was able to help me identify my issues and fix them. She also continued to be supportive through emails, which is a huge help since I seem to have a million questions all the time.

What I was most impressed with was her ability to help me realize I was placing some of my personal baggage onto my breastfeeding expectations (that is besides the physical things I was doing). Once I identified that, I was able to relax and that helped solve some of my worrying which in turn allowed me to breastfeed.

She is an invaluable resource. Although I think she is a little expensive it is well worth it. Just think of your baby and his health. What you pay Lori will pay a million times over for the health of your baby for the rest of his/her life. I cannot repay her enough for giving me the gift of being able to breastfeed my child. It was the one thing I prayed the most about while pregnant.

“I had a consultation with Lori after my son got out of the NICU. She came highly recommended by the lactation consultant at Banner Thunderbird and Agave Pediatrics. I am a wheelchair user and needed help positioning my son when breastfeeding. Lori was extremely patient and helpful with recommending different positions I could use. Lori is easy going and I didn’t feel pressured to continue breastfeeding when the positions became difficult. I highly recommend Lori if you need a lactation consultant.”

I cannot recommend Lori highly enough to any mamas who are struggling in their breastfeeding relationship. Lori is knowledgeable, skilled, wise, and compassionate. Knowledge and skills are something that a lot of IBCLCs have, but Lori’s wisdom and compassion are what make her a cut above the rest. To “know” something is one thing, but to recognize how to apply that knowledge in different situations is another. Lori is able to do this time and time again.

I came to Lori first when I was struggling with my second baby. She was severely tongue tied and lip tied and was unable to latch. We managed the first 9 days of her life by hand expression and syringe feeding, but I was so ready to be feeding at the breast. I saw Lori after the revision and she helped tremendously with positioning, adjusting my latch and reassuring me of my baby’s ability to transfer milk post-revision. Since we had so much time left in our consult, Lori took the time to show me how to breastfeed laying down and reclined, which is a game changer when you’re a tired new mom. Lori’s extra care and attention made me feel confident and empowered as a mother.

Secondly, I am a doula in the local birth community. I refer many of my clients to Lori for both in-office and in-home visits. Over and over again, the feedback I get from clients is that “Lori is amazing”, and they’re spot on! She truly is! My clients feel cared for, listened to, and supported in their journey to figure out breastfeeding.

Though Lori’s children are grown, she has not forgotten what it’s like to be a tired, overwhelmed, teary-eyed new mom and that kindness and compassion shines through as she interacts with her clients. If you’re on the fence about whether or not to hire an IBCLC or whether or not Lori is the one to hire, take my advice and schedule an appt with her today. I can assure you it’s one of the best investments you will make!

“I highly recommend Lori Isenstadt as a Lactation Consultant. I refer all my friends and co-workers to her and always receive positive feedback. Often I have spoken to expecting parents at work referring her, only to find out they went to see Lori for their first baby and raved about their experience. Over the years I’ve had many friends and past co-workers see her for a consult (not as a referral) and realized we knew each other after the fact and spoke highly of their experience. Lori truly cares about the well-being of every baby and their parents and will do everything she can to help you have an enjoyable breastfeeding experience!. “

“Quite simply, Lori was awesome! Since her visit 3 days ago, I feel like I understand my daughters needs better than I did in a whole 2.5 weeks. She made me just take a breath and start listening to what daughter was telling me rather fit her into a fixed, rigid schedule. I feel like me, my husband and daughter are more relaxed and happy, and it shows! I now also have a better latch for fuller feeds. Thank you!. “

“I had my home consultation with Lori today. I did not have any expectations going into this appointment. All I knew was I needed guidance. Lori is very professional, empathetic, experienced, and knowledgeable. After my consult, I felt more “confident” in my breast feeding path with my newborn daughter. I know I still have a lot more to learn but that will come with time. And I know I can reach out to Lori if I need any further guidance. If anyone ever were to inquire who’d I’d recommend for LC services, I will not hesitate to refer to Lori.. “

“Lori was very personal and professional. I was afraid to go because, being my 5th baby, what could she possibly tell me that would help or I didn’t know. he had many options and ideas. She confirmed a tongue tie and gave referrals to have it fixed. I was with her for an hour and 45 minutes. I felt comfortable and refreshed to keep nursing. “

“Lori was awesome, a few key tweaks and my son seems to be breastfeeding way better. After we found out he was tongue tied and he didn’t seem to be transferring milk we clipped his tongue and met with Lori who came highly recommended, I wasn’t sure how helpful a lactation consul talk would actually be but I was so pleased and impressed. Lori has such a calm energy around something that is beautiful but can be a bit stressful for a mamma, her help was truly priceless “

“Lori came out to my house to help me with breastfeeding my newborn twins. She was able to provide me with lots of tips and tricks to get them to latch so I can breastfeed. One of them is doing very well, where as the other is still struggling. Pediatrician says he is lazy. Thanks Lori for your professionalism and guidance from a first time mother of twins..”

“I had a baby who wouldn’t latch, not just that she wouldn’t latch well, but wouldn’t latch at all. Lori came in and within about 30 mins we were getting her to start latching with the help of a nipple shield. It’s day 2 and she’s latching full on. She still needs to eat from the bottle since she’s not used to the work needed to breast feed, but it’s leaps and bounds from where we were just 2 days ago. Persistence pays off. I’m very exhausted, but very happy with the progress.”

Nov 13, 2018 Ashlie Noticed a difference right away

“Lori examined my baby and found he has a tongue tie. She then showed me a position to help with his latching. I highly recommend you call her if your in pain from nursing. Had she not found his tongue tie, I would still suffering! “

Dec 16, 2018 Michelle Highly recommend!!

June 3, 2018 Lisa B Excellent experience

“Lori was fantastic to work with. She quickly identified that my daughter had a tongue tie. She came for a follow up visit after my daughter’s procedure. She came to my home for the visit. She was right on time. I appreciated her insight and definitely felt she was invaluable to helping my daughter and I work through the amazing and challenging thing that is nursing. “

“Lori is a pleasure to work with. we had an appointment for 30 minutes but ended up spending more than 90 minutes. its incredible to know how learning about baby holding position can help you. My baby has been feeding really well once we started implementing techniques taught to us. LORI, THANK YOU”

April 21, 2018 Jazmine F Amazing consultation

“Lori is amazing…just seeing her for an hour helped me and my baby so much. Its incredible how just positioning can have such an effect on effective breastfeeding. She got him to latch in a matter of minutes after I had been battling with him to latch for 5 days and him making my breasts raw and cracked from latching incorrectly. Now my baby is doing great and no longer fighting me to eat & my breasts are healing from all the trauma. The time and money spent with Lori was COMPLETELY WORTH IT!!”

“Lisa was a great teacher and helped me in a lot of ways. She diagnosed him with a tongue tie even though the doctors said he didn’t have one. She was very positive and realistic. She made me feel better about myself. I can tell she’s a great coach. My only complaint is that I’ve emailed her twice to get a copy of our visit for insurance purposes and she’s never responded. Her appointment and visit was great but follow up is lacking. Overall a positive experience. “

Oct 17, 2017 Gwen Bonar All About Breastfeeding

“All About Breastfeeding completely turned around our breastfeeding woes! We came to Lori with our 2 week old, non latching, fussy baby boy and left with a latching success! Lori not only got our son latched within seconds, but helped me get in the right mindset after weeks of feeling defeated that I couldn’t do it, when in fact I could. Thank you so much, AAB and Lori! “

Sep 29, 2017 Madeline F Great experience!

“I met with Lori, having been to four doctors for what I had previously thought to be a thrush infection I had been suffering from for 7 weeks. She was able to examine me and determine there was a latch issue, and was able to give me options to resolve the issue. Thank you so much Lori! “

“I was pretty much at my lowest point in breast-feeding with a seven week old who was causing a lot of pain. After one consult with Lori, and only 24 hours after following her advice, I have a much happier baby already. She is so knowledgeable on all things reast-feeding and was able to help us out and point us in the right direction. Money well spent. “

July 24, 2017 Mihaela Rennaker Much needed help

“Lori is very pleasant and patient. She takes the time to explain and she makes her tips/suggestions easy to understand and follow. The fact that she does in-home consultations is certainly helpful. We were following doctor/nurse recommendations and were experiencing issues with the baby latching and crying during the night. Lori was able to identify the issue and show, in person, how to handle the situation. Get the help, if you need it, even if it’s for a piece of mind!”

June 1, 2017 Paige Howerton Absolutely amazing

“Lori is extremely knowledgeable about all things breastfeeding. It is clear that she is eager to help, and wants to truly listen to what works best for your situation and finding the best outcome for baby and parents. I had heard of moms who felt judged by their lactation consultants. I felt so comfortable with Lori. In fact, it was the most calm I’ve felt about breastfeeding ever. I cannot recommend her or her services more. “

“Lisa was our savior!! Ped immediatley had us supplement with formula when our baby wasn’t gaining. I asked her questions (specifically if my daughter was tongue tied) she said no and offered no help/answers as to why breastfeeding wasn’t successful for us. Lisa instantly recognized that she is tongue tied, referred us to a wonderful ped to get it fixed, helped me learn how to properly pump and extract milk to not lose my production and helped baby to latch better in the mean time. Thank you!!!”

May 18, 2017 Sarah Craig Wonderful experience

After the birth of my daughter everything seemed to be not ok. Soon my daughter was noted to have a tongue tie and a lip tie. Her pediatrician as recommending a revision. Lori

“I met with Lori to help with issues while breastfeeding my second child. I wish I would have seen her or a LC during my first child’s breastfeeding career. I look forward to following up with Lori once my child’s tongue tie revision is complete to finally get on the right breastfeeding track. Thank you so much for your guidance! “

Dec 20, 2016 Jean G Lori is wonderful!

“My first full day home from the hospital after having a c-section, I found All About Breastfeeding online, and contacted Lori. She came to my home the very next day, and spent almost 2 hours with us teaching me a couple of different holds and helping me get comfortable. She is knowledgeable, thorough, patient and kind. I left the hospital feeling frustrated and overwhelmed, and if it hadn’t been for Lori I probably would’ve given up breastfeeding quite soon. I can’t recommend Lori enough!”
